steve addicott
Back when 720s won competitions, Steve was the man! Now the early 00s are over Steve’s focus has been to utilise his nutritional and fitness qualifications to foster junior athletes. He has developed a PERFORMANCE PATHWAY from the ground up which encompasses all aspects of on and off snow training in a competitive environment. He first stared working with the GB junior squad in 2009 and has since grown Why Ain’t You Jibbin’ into one of the biggest international freeski and snowboard development squads. Now with the Steve Addicott Private Programme (SAPP) he is taking his international athletes to World Cup competition and beyond.
kate foster
Kate represented Team GB at the 2006 Winter Olympics. She is a wonderful mentor for the kids on our programme, passing on the knowledge of what it takes to reach the top. Growing up in Canada to a British mother, she was selected for the squad in 2004 and continued to train with Team GB, travelling the World Cup circuit until 2011. Three time British Halfpipe champion, she then turned to coaching where she teamed up with Steve at Why Ain’t You Jibbin’.
Malcolm McLean
Malcolm met Kate and Steve while he was competing in the British Boardercorss Team in 2015. After competing at Europa Cup level he decided to shift his attention to the project at Why Ain’t You Jibbin’. Inspired by what Steve and Kate had built, he joined forces bringing his coaching experience and TV production background into the mix. They have since been able to grow the company and offer this amazing opportunity to these talented kids.
Kyle Macdonald
Kyle keeps the House in check! Having studied sports coaching at university, Kyle worked as a teacher in China where he mastered his classroom serious face (don’t mess with Kyle)! Back in Europe he offers a unique set of skills to Why Ain’t You Jibbin’ and is able share his love for skiing.
Becca Harrison
Freshly baked cakes and cookies when we get back from the mountain, Becca is everyones favourite person! Becca with all the relevant food hygiene related certificates has the challenging job of feeding all of those hungry mouths. The kids and adults in the house train like athletes so they need to eat like athletes. Becca does a wonderful job of sneaking all of the required nutrition into her delicious meals.
Kealan Venning
Kealan grew up riding the steep slopes of Chamonix. He will straight line anything! Just as confident in the park, he trained with Steve from the age of eight, eventually competing in Europa Cup competition. He knows the programme probably better than Steve himself having been made to guinea pig every weird drill and exercise!
Glenn de Blois
Currently competing on the Boardercross World Cup circuit, when Glenn isn’t traveling or in his freaky-deaky Dutch homeland, he spends his time at House Why Ain’t You. Just as likely to be absorbing the Pro Line as he is doing a double backflip, Glenn proves that the best snowboarders can ride anything!
